Tin City is truly a local treasure.

Tin City actually played a huge role in the history of Naples. It goes all the way back to the 1920s, when these tin-roofed buildings were the birthplace of tremendous economic development for the area. The Seaboard Airline Railroad added a South Florida expansion in the early 1900s and it connected with Tin City before heading southeast to the ports of Miami. Thus, Tin City became the heart of the Naples fishing industry, through the exporting and processing of seafood and boat construction and maintenance.

In the 1970s, Tin City was transformed into a marketplace, with a colorful maritime charm that remains to this day. Even today, Tin City retains its old Florida charm, preserving a small but very significant stretch of the Gordon River for future generations to enjoy.
